   Proposal Description:
   Hierarchical latent variable models may be used to maximize the information derived from a battery of neuropsychological tests while minimizing associated error. For longitudinal studies, more precise estimates of change-points representing changes in the rate of cognitive decline (assumed to be caused by underlying pathology) increases power to detect between-group differences. This project will assess a variety of hierarchical statistical models of cognitive decline using data from a large longitudinal cohort. We aim to improve inference and prediction in longitudinal studies of cognitive decline.
